Columns

You may already know Directorist supports 3 types of layouts (Map View/List View/Grid View) for displaying listings in the listing Archive page and listing search result page, listing category or listing location archive page etc. If you choose the grid view layout for any listings page like the listing archive page or the listing search result page, you can customize the number of columns of the grid view layout. Directorist lets you customize the number of columns in grid view in two ways. They are 1. via settings panel 2. via shortcode. Please keep reading to know more about them. However, if you customize columns in both ways ( vai settings panel and via shortcode ) then the value set via the shortcode will get preference.

Customizing the columns of the listing archive

A little intro about listing archive page. The listing archive page is the page where all listings are displayed (usually with pagination). It is also known as ‘All Listings’ page in the different parts of the Directorist Settings panel and documentation. Now that confusion regarding listings archive and all listings page is gone, lets see how to customize columns of this archive page.

  1. Change column via shortcode: You can use the columns parameter with the shortcode [directorist_all_listings]. For example, if you want to use 4 columns, use the shortcode like this [directorist_all_listings columns=4]. Change the number 4 to any number of columns you would like to use.
  2. Change column via settings page: Please go to Directorist Listings > Directorist Settings > Listing Settings > General Listings. Under the ‘LISTINGS PAGE SETTINGS’ section, set the value of Number of Columns to your desired number of columns. For example, if you want to use 4 columns, set Set the value of Number of Columns to 4.
