System Requirements<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Directorist is a plugin for the WordPress platform, therefore, we assume you already have WordPress installed on your system. You may contact the hosting provider for assistance in regards to WordPress installation and ensure to meet the requirements below<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WordPress<\/td>5.0+<\/td><\/tr>
Web Server<\/td>WordPress recommends Apache<\/a> or Nginx<\/a> as the most robust and featureful server for running WordPress, but any server that supports PHP and MySQL will do. <\/td><\/tr>
Database<\/td>MySQL version 5.6+ or MariaDB version 10.1+<\/td><\/tr>
RAM<\/td>256MB+<\/td><\/tr>
PHP<\/td>Version 7.3 or greater<\/td><\/tr>

Installing Directorist<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There are two ways to install the Directorist plugin. <\/span>First<\/b>, installing via the WordPress Dashboard and <\/span>second<\/b>, via the FTP.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Installing via the WordPress Dashboard<\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Step 1:<\/b> Navigate to <\/span>WordPress Admin Dashboard\u2192<\/strong>Plugins \u2192<\/strong> Add New<\/b> and search for <\/span>Directorist<\/b> in the search box. Alternatively, download the plugin from WordPress plugin repository<\/a> and upload it in WordPress Admin Dashboard\u2192<\/strong>Plugins \u2192<\/strong> Add New \u2192<\/strong> Upload Plugin.

<\/span>Step 2<\/b>: Install and activate the <\/span>Directorist \u2013 Business Directory<\/b> Plugin from the search result.
After activating the plugin you will see a new menu called <\/span>Directory Listings<\/b> added to the WordPress Dashboard menu.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Installing via FTP<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Refer to the URL and download the plugin file from the WordPress plugin repository<\/a>. Now, login to your hosting using an FTP client. You are required to fill in the following fields in your FTP client.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once connected, upload and unzip the file in the plugins directory usually found in your hosting server\u2019s<\/span> \/username\/public_html\/wp-content\/plu<\/b>gi<\/strong>ns<\/strong>\/  directory. For any assistance related to FTP settings please contact your hosting provider.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Permalinks<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There are 6 types of permalink structures available in WordPress and the <\/span>D<\/b>irectorist<\/b> is <\/span>not<\/b> compatible with the \u201c<\/span>plain<\/b>\u201d structure. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, you must make sure your permalinks are not set as \u201cPlain\u201d and the settings can be located in the <\/span>wp-admin dashboard \u2799 Settings \u2799 Permalinks \u2799 Common Settings<\/b>.
