Overview
LiveChat extension allows communication between Listing owners and Customers. Website owners only can see the chat history for any investigation. Adding LiveChat to your website adds credibility. Your visitors will instantly know there are real people on the other side ready to help at any moment.
Install & Configure
To Install Themes & Extensions Go to Directory Listing → Themes & Extensions → Connect Account → Put your Directorist Username & Password
After a successful connection with your account, the system will redirect to Themes & Extension dashboard page.
Another way To install the Coupon Extension is to Download it from your directorist account dashboard and navigate to WP-Admin → Plugins → Add New → Upload a plugin. Upload the plugin and Activate it.
Settings: Setup Live Chat Once activated, make sure to enable the “Live Chat” extension in Directory Settings → Extensions Settings → Extensions General → Live Chat.
Directory Builder: Go through Directory Builder → Single Listing Layout → Content → Preset Fields. If the extension is already enabled then you will find a preset field that needs to be dragged on active fields to show LiveChat interface on a single listing page.
Shortcode: Add the live chat shortcode [directorist_live_chat] on the single listing page to display the live chat section. You can position the shortcode wherever you want. User View- That is it! The setup process has been completed and the live chat extension is ready to be used. Upon completion of the setup, the live chat will appear on the Single Listing Page.
NB: LiveChat functionality will not come in view on the All Listing page. To start chatting click on the “Start Chat” button on the Single Listing Page.
Chat Interface: Here is a demonstration of the live chat extension. On the left panel, the listing owner is chatting from the dashboard and the user is chatting on the right from the single listing page.
Listing Owner Chat Panel: Listing Owner requires to chat from the User Dashboard Page → Chat tab. All the chats will be listed on the left sidebar.
NB: Listing Owner will receive an Email Notification when there is a new chat.
Website Owner Panel: Admin can check the history of records, in which listings conversation has been executed.
Customization: You can customize the chat label on a single listing page and user dashboard.
“Start Chatting” Button: You can change the button text of the “Start Chatting” button located on the Single Listing page. This is the button that a user needs to click to start chatting.
"Show Chat" Button: You can change the button text of the “Show Chat” button located on the Single Listing page. This button reveals the previous conversations.
"Hide Chat" Button: You can also change the button text of the “Hide Chat” button. Clicking on it will hide the conversation.
"Chat" Tab Label (User Dashboard): The “Chat” tab label located in the User Dashboard is also editable.

- Is there any Shortcode available?
Ans: Yes. You can adjust the position of the live chat using the following shortcode [directorist_live_chat]
- Can I position live chat wherever I want?
Ans: By default, you are unable to do so for now. However, you can use CSS to position it according to your will.
