Yes. Directorist is compatible with hundreds of WordPress plugins out of the box. The integrations listed on this page are ones that have been custom-developed and thoroughly tested by the Directorist team — meaning they've gone the extra mile to build dedicated features and styles for them. Any WordPress plugin built following standard WordPress coding practices will generally work alongside Directorist without issue. If you're unsure about a specific plugin you rely on, the best approach is to test with the free version of Directorist before purchasing, or ask the support team directly.
The dedicated integration extensions — MailChimp, GamiPress, WPML, BuddyPress, BuddyBoss, and Oxygen Builder — are all included in every Directorist membership plan (Starter, Pro, and Agency) at no extra cost. You don't pay separately for them. Elementor integration works out of the box with the core plugin for free. WooCommerce Subscription support is handled through the WooCommerce Pricing Plans extension, which is also included in all paid memberships. In short, one membership gives you access to all of them.
Elementor is the standout free integration — you get access to Directorist's Elementor widgets with the free core plugin, allowing you to build and customize your directory pages visually without any paid plan. General compatibility with any standard WordPress plugin, theme, or tool also applies to the free version. The dedicated integration extensions — MailChimp, WPML, BuddyPress, BuddyBoss, GamiPress, Oxygen Builder, and WooCommerce Subscriptions — require a paid membership to activate.
Directorist supports all four builders, but in practice you'd use one page builder at a time on a single site — running multiple competing page builders simultaneously isn't a WordPress best practice. Each builder has dedicated support: Elementor works natively with 25+ widgets included in the core plugin, Divi has the Directorist Divi Integration extension with native Divi 5 modules, Bricks is covered by the AddonsKit for Bricks extension, and Oxygen has its own dedicated Oxygen Builder Integration extension. All four are included in paid memberships, so you can choose whichever builder suits your workflow.
Yes. Directorist provides 25+ dedicated Elementor widgets covering all the core directory elements — listing grids, search forms, maps, categories, single listing pages, and more. You can design and build your full directory entirely within Elementor's visual editor without writing a single shortcode. Shortcodes remain available as an alternative for developers or users who prefer them, but they're not required. If you're an Elementor user, you can treat shortcodes as completely optional.
You don't need WooCommerce at all to monetize. Directorist has a fully built-in payment and monetization system that includes Pricing Plans, Stripe, PayPal, and Authorize.net payment gateways, featured listings, claim listing fees, pay-per-submit, and recurring subscriptions — all without WooCommerce. WooCommerce is an optional alternative path for those who already run a WooCommerce store and want to manage directory payments through their existing WooCommerce setup, particularly for recurring subscriptions via WooCommerce Subscriptions. If you don't already use WooCommerce, Directorist's native system handles everything you need.
Directorist works with both. Polylang, WPML, Loco Translate, and Poedit are all supported for making your directory multilingual. You can use Polylang with the core Directorist plugin without any additional extension. The dedicated WPML Integration extension exists for users who want a deeper, more custom WPML setup — it provides tighter integration between the two plugins for more complex multilingual directory configurations. If you're already using Polylang and don't need advanced WPML-specific features, the free core plugin handles multilingual support without an extra purchase.
